The Man Behind the Magic
Jose's childhood in Peru shaped everything that followed. Restless by nature—his mother's word for it—he grew up traveling across Latin America with his parents, boarding in Switzerland, and exploring Europe and Asia. He dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Instead, he found his calling in something equally rooted in care: creating travel experiences that honor both the places and the people who call them home. Today, that restlessness has become intentionality. He breaks his workday into pieces, stepping away for a few hours to be fully present with family, and he guards his weekends fiercely—less connected, more alive. It's the same philosophy he brings to Yampu: travel should feel unhurried, authentic, and deeply human.
